Asia, Mongolia, Ulan Bator. 03/2011. Ganbaatar Damdisuren, 50 years old and ex shepherd lies for 8 years on a bed after a car accident. His wife Narantuya Enebish, 45 years old and ex shepherd takes care of him. This family lost all of their livestock (100 animals) that was their main source of income during the 2001 Dzud, and they moved from the Tuv province to Ulan Bator in the Gher District. Her husband was working as a taxi driver but after a car accident 8 years ago he got paralyzed. In order to sustain her family she started working by collecting cardboard at the Ulan Bator landfill but she got ill with lung cancer and now she can not work every day in a such dirty and unhealthy place. They have 4 sons but only one works as cleaning man in a hospital. Because of their sickness they receive from the state 140000 tugrik per month which are just enough to buy the medicines they need (medium salary in Mongolia is around 300 dollars).
